1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy is issued by Rakshak Digital Technologies Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"), covering our website (getrakshak.com) and our applications, including Rakshak (personal safety) and DigiRaksha (digital family protection).

2. Information we collect

Rakshak (Safety App)

• Location data — precise device location, used to identify nearby responders and dispatch help during an SOS activation.
• Trusted contacts — names and phone numbers you choose to add for emergency alerts.
• Emergency evidence — audio, video, or incident records captured during an SOS event, stored using tamper-proof (blockchain-based) logging for evidentiary integrity.
• Account & device information — phone number for OTP-based sign-in, and basic device identifiers for app functionality.
• Note: core SOS functionality is designed to work even without a completed login, so location and alert data may be processed in a limited, anonymous capacity during an active emergency even before full account verification completes.

DigiRaksha (Digital Family Protection)

• Screen time & app usage data — time spent on the monitored device and which apps are used, visible to the parent/guardian account.
• Content filtering data — DNS/VPN-level browsing activity used to block inappropriate content and advertisements.
• App install requests — information about apps a child attempts to install, submitted for parental approval.
• Parental account data — the parent/guardian's contact details used to manage the child's protection settings.
• Children's data is collected only through a parent or guardian account, with the parent/guardian's consent obtained at setup. We do not knowingly allow a child to create or control the account independently.

Business Platform (SMB SaaS)

• Customer order/booking data — information submitted by end customers of our business clients (e.g. restaurant orders, salon appointments), processed on behalf of and at the direction of the business client.
• Business account data — contact and billing details of the business clients using our platform.

Website

• Basic usage data (pages visited) via standard web analytics, and any information you voluntarily submit through contact forms or WhatsApp inquiries.

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Activate and coordinate emergency response (Rakshak)
• Provide parental controls and content filtering (DigiRaksha)
• Operate ordering, booking, and billing features (Business Platform)
• Maintain account security and verify identity
• Improve app reliability and troubleshoot issues
• Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

4. How data is stored & secured

Data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. Emergency evidence records (Rakshak) use tamper-proof, hashed logging to preserve evidentiary integrity. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel and systems necessary to operate the relevant service.

5. Third-party sharing

We share information only as necessary to deliver our services, including with:

• Emergency responders and Safe Haven partners (Rakshak), to coordinate assistance
• Mapping and location service providers, to determine proximity to responders
• SMS/communication gateway providers, for OTP and alert delivery
• Cloud hosting providers, for secure data storage

We do not share data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

6. Children's privacy (DigiRaksha)

DigiRaksha is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide screen time management, content filtering, and app approval features. A parent/guardian may review, modify, or request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us. We retain child-related data only for as long as the parent/guardian account remains active, or as required by law.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email below. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.

8. Data deletion requests

To request deletion of your data, email getrakshak@gmail.com with "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line, along with your registered phone number or account email for verification. We will process and confirm deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. evidentiary records tied to an active legal matter).
